Community programs

Kmart is proud to support communities in which we operate in. For three years, Kmart has been supporting the Graeme Dingle Foundation, formally known as the Foundation for Youth Development, through various coin collection programs and activities in store.

The Graeme Dingle Foundation is a leader in the field of child youth development, running several successful programs to help support Kiwi Kids. The Foundation uses these programs to develop core life skills in Kiwi kids that in turn help them achieve their potential. Throughout our partnership with the Foundation, Kmart has raised over $50,000 for Kiwi kids at risk.

In 2017, you can once again help us support Kiwi kids by donating to the Graeme Dingle Foundation’s Stars Program through our self-serve checkouts and coin collection boxes.

The Stars program provides year 9 students with the leadership opportunities to build confidence and improve communication, time management and planning skills to help them transition into their first year of secondary school. The Stars program impacts over 2,500 kids per year and helps them develop a sense of responsibility and connectedness to the school and wider community.

From 1 September to 31 October 2017, we encourage customers to come in store and give to the Stars program. Between these dates there will be activity in store that will give you more ways to donate and help us give Kiwi kids the best opportunity for success.
