Floor lamps for every room

Bring light exactly where you need it with a floor lamp that adds both function and style to your space. From upright standing lamps to task and feature floor lamps, Kmart has options for brightening a darker corner, creating a reading spot or adding softer light to a living room or bedroom. Because floor lamps stand independently, they can add another layer of lighting without needing space on a side table or console.

Choose a floor lamp for your living room

Living room floor lamps can help create a more flexible lighting setup around sofas and occasional chairs. Position a standing lamp beside your seating when you want extra light in a particular part of the room, or use one to brighten a corner that is not well served by your main lighting.

Before choosing, check the lamp's height, base footprint and shade direction. Consider where the light will fall when you are seated and make sure the lamp and cord can be positioned without interfering with walkways. Browse table lamps if you want to layer floor and surface lighting throughout the room.

Create a reading corner with a standing lamp

A task floor lamp or standing lamp beside a favourite chair can create a dedicated spot for reading and winding down. Look at the direction of the light and the position of the shade so the lamp works with the way you use the chair rather than simply filling an empty corner.

Floor lamps can also work well beside bedroom seating or in spaces where a bedside or side table is not available. For more ways to layer light throughout the home, explore the wider lighting range.

Style floor lamps with your furniture

A floor lamp can also become part of your room's décor. Consider the colours, materials and shapes already used across your sofa, tables and other furniture. A simple upright lamp can blend into the room, while a tripod, textured or feature design can create more of a focal point.

Always follow the individual product instructions for assembly, placement, compatible globes, wattage and operation. Position cords safely and switch the lamp off before cleaning or making adjustments as directed.
