Blender FAQs
What's the difference between a blender and a juicer?
A blender is designed to pulverise fruits and vegetables or break up foods, while a juicer extracts just the liquid and discards the solid pulp. Juicers only perform one task, while blenders can be used for smoothies, batters, breadcrumbs, dips, sauces and baby food.
Which fruits cannot go in a juicer?
Only juice fruits and vegetables with a high liquid content, such as oranges, apples, watermelon and grapefruit. You should avoid any thick, starchy textures, including bananas, avocados, mangoes, figs, coconuts or ingredients with their pits or hard skins still on. Thicker ingredients can be used in a blender for a thicker smoothie consistency.
Which is better, a blender or a juicer?
It depends what you’re making. Choose a juicer if you prefer a light, pulp-free drink or a blender if you want a thicker drink made from crushed or blended fruits and vegetables. You can also use a blender to mix batters, grind nuts, make breadcrumbs, chop ingredients for salsas and dips, or emulsify dressings and condiments.
